Kyle Cooper

after our day in london we went straight to the peacock theatre to a talk give by kyle cooper.

i have to say this was my favorite part of the day in london because i really enjoyed listening to someone that was enthusiastic and confident about his work. he really did portray a good feeling for the stuff that he has created and has been able to come up with simple and novel ways of creating title sequences.

since listening to kyle i feel myself looking at title sequences in much more detail and seeing them as more pieces of design or even art in some cases kyle has directed and produced more than 100 film title sequences. Details magazine credited him with 'Almost single-handedly revitalizing the main title sequence as an art form'.

Creativity magazine named Cooper one of the 'Top 50 biggest and best thinkers and doers from the last 20 years of advertising and consumer culture.' The New York Times Magazine called the title sequence he created for Se7en 'One of the most important design innovations of the 1990s'.  and i would have to agree totally on that, even the way he described his thinking through the title sequence sounded exciting and confusing for him all at once and it is things like this that truly makes him an amazing designer in my opinion
