peter saville

i choose peter saville as my designer to do my four page spread. i listened to type radio and transcribe a ten minute interview with him talking to two interviewers about his previous work and designs he has done for factory here are a few images of peter and his previous work with dc and other companies.

work placement

i have secured my work placement with k bay custom surfboards  hopefully there i will be able design the graphics on a couple of custom boards for guys that surf down in kimerage and newquay. i have been down to the work shop a couple of times and started shaping a new board to start my designs on.

sketches while doing flash

these are a few fun sketches i did while researching for my flash project 

flash project

the flash programme was again more of an enemie than a friend to me as with everything to do with computers i seem to get put off or even "scared" to use them as i feel i am not the best at useing this software i opted to take a different approach to it using stop motion. i was pretty happy with the final outcome but i definately could have refined my stop motion and i can say i have learnt the principal behind two types of animation rather than just flash.

amnesty international

this has been one of my more enjoyed projects we have been given i started off looking at abuse to women but by the end was starting to run out of steam and felt i was taking the project in the wrong direction. so i there fore decided to do i 180 and start looking at homeless people and how others could help. what i ended up with ( as you can see above) relates heavily to the opinion that homeless people are NOT hopeless and might just need a helping hand to get them back on their feet again

quark

we have been doing quark for a couple of weeks. it is basically page design and layouts i personally find it quite hard and boring to get a grip on but i can definitely see were it will come in handy for us when we are designing book or magazine layouts. there is also a programme called in design which kit will be taking us through in the coming weeks so hopefully that will be a bit more stimulating and easier to use .

illustrations

these are a few random illustrations i have been doing while bored at home or work there just things i think about or am influenced at by the time. i am going to try and get a work place ment doing graphics on surfboards so alot of ideas for these are flying around my head.
